Mental Health Awareness Digital Retreat - February 6th
Youth members of The Youth Ministry Commission will be hosting a diocesan digital event on mental health awareness. Youth currently in the 9-12th grades are invited to a Diocesan Digital Retreat on February 6th to focus on our mental and spiritual health. The day will begin at 10 am in the WEMO Youth Community Zoom Room with our keynote speaker, Jeff Janney. He will be presenting about what anxiety is and how/why we experience it in the brain and body as well as strategies anyone can use to process it.
At 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3 pm we will divide into groups led by your peers to discuss stress, depression, and anxiety. Each session will have open discussions about how you can process the three, and how you can look to your spiritual community and your faith to help.

Dismantling Racism 2-Day Digital Retreat -
February 21 & 28

The Diocese of West Missouri believes in the work of Dismantling Racism. Previously, the majority of the work around this issue in our diocese has done with adults. We wanted to begin doing this work with our young people. In 2020 several adults attended training to offer a new curriculum to address these issues with middle and high school youth. Our first 2-day digital retreat will be for youth currently in 9-12 grades. In order to get the most out of the retreat, participants must attend both digital retreat dates, February 21 and 28th from 5-9 pm. Zoom links will be sent to those that have registered.

Let us continue to be Christians that address tough issues choosing love over all else.

Please register by February 14th to allow time for retreat materials to mailed to you.

Save the date for the Digital Junior High Retreat, April 10-11
