Here is how we are supporting small businesses in Durham Region:

  • BACD Start Up Sessions This weekly 1 and 1/2 free session covers the essential steps to starting a small business including registering a business name, licenses & permits, HST, business banking, insurance and hiring employees.

  • Business Fundamentals Workshop Series – These free 2 hour workshops are to get you working on your business roadmap - Business Planning; Marketing & Sales; Financial & Operations run once a month.

  • Webinars in response to COVID19 – We are adding online webinars weekly to help you find resources, business transitions, networking and more.

  • Book a meeting with a business advisor for free – We can meet with you virtually or through a phone call to discuss your business challenges. By meeting you one-on-one our aim is to help equip you with the help and guidance to take action! Summer Company program is open to students aged 15 - 29 returning to full time education in the Fall. The program offers business training, mentoring and a grant of up to $3,000.

Offering entrepreneurial women virtual & in-person business support to help start a new business, plus access to apply for a $2,000 microloan.
Starter Company Plus Grant Program
The Starter Company Plus program provides training, mentoring and an opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $5,000. This grant program is for 'market ready' businesses in Durham Region.
