March 2-12 Virtual Export Mission to South Korea
In early March, the Ontario government will undertake a virtual trade mission to South Korea,  through the International Business Growth Branch of the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade.

The mission will allow OCNI members to hold tailored B2B meetings with targeted partners and clients in South Korea. While the mission will cover four sub-sectors of energy generation and distribution, one sub-sector of interest to OCNI members will be nuclear decommissioning and decontamination, as the South Korean government phases out nuclear power generation, including the Wolsong 1 CANDU reactor. South Korea is expected to have 28 nuclear reactors by 2022 (including those already under construction), but the number will gradually drop to 14 by 2038.

These tailored meetings will generally be held in the evenings (7:00-10:00 pm E.S.T., with timing mutually determined by participants) between March 2 and 12, 2021, and nominally last a half-hour. (These times will not conflict with the OCNI’s virtual mission to Romania, which is scheduled for earlier in the day, during March 2-10.) Participants will receive at least five B2B meetings (with interpretation service); marketing support (including an Ontario Company Directory in Korean); one-to-one export advice and consultation; and in-market support by the Ontario Trade and Investment Office, and the Canadian Embassy, in Seoul.

There will be 10 available spots, in total, and a charge of $700 per company to participate. Interested participants will be asked to supply information on their company, in order to arrange the B2B meetings, and will need to register here by February 5, 2021, or sooner, to secure a spot. Further information is also available from Wenbo Pan, at wenbo.pan@ontario.ca.
