What could be a more perfect day for us to talk about racial healing in America than Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. MLK famously spoke of his dream for a society where everyone is judged by the "content of their character" and not the "color of their skin." With so much racial divisiveness and strife still being fomented across the U.S. it's obvious we still have work to do.
This week we talk to someone who has made an important contribution to Dr. King's vision. Ginger Howard, Republican National Committeewoman from Georgia and a beloved friend of mine, has written her first book with none other than Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. These two amazing women connected, being the only two conservatives on a panel at Ebenezer Baptist Church (where Dr. King's grandfather, father and uncle had preached). They went on to write "We Are Not Colorblind, Healing the Racial Divide." It is an amazing contribution to the ongoing debate about race in America. This book was developed through thoughtful prayer and is infused with wisdom from the Bible. I hope you enjoy this weeks Talking with Tad!
