Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Dear Hart Families,

I hope your summer has been healthy and safe. I want to share some important dates and information and will continue to update throughout the next two weeks.

Over the past three weeks, I have had the opportunity to meet with teachers and staff virtually to update them on the ever changing information. I wanted to share that they cannot wait to be back on campus with students doing what they love to do in an environment that is safe for everyone. Although the first three weeks of school require us to work remotely with students, they are committed to doing so at the highest level. During our annual professional development this past week, all of our teachers and staff completed a certification course for online teaching. It was a great course and I for one learned so much more about providing the highest quality remote learning experience.

We are planning what the return to "on campus" learning will look like and the practices and procedures that will provide the safest learning environment for our elementary students. If you haven't, please be sure to go into your child's Powerschool account and select whether you would like for them to continue online learning after the first three weeks of school or if you plan for your children to attend classes on campus. Having these numbers as soon as possible will allow us to determine the number of teachers for remote learning and the number of teachers for on campus learning. It will also help us plan for how we can implement recess, specials, etc. in the safest way with the number of students in each class and grade level.

If you do decide to send your children to campus on September 8th, I can assure you we will have left no stone unturned to ensure we have created the safest possible school we can. Over the next few weeks, I will be able to lay out these safety precautions for you.

Technology Request
Later this week I will send out a form for you to complete to request technology for use during remote learning.

During the week of August 10, all families will have an opportunity to come to school to pick up any requested technology, purchased school supply packs, yearbooks, Art to Remember, and any other materials your grade level teachers deem important for remote learning (math manipulatives, handwriting books, etc.).

Meet the Teacher and New Student Orientation
We will hold both of these virtually on Tuesday, August 11. This will be an opportunity to meet your teacher, hear about your upcoming school year, and see your new classmates. More information to come.

First Day and Week of School
Monday, August 17 is the first day of school! Teachers are working hard to make the first day and week of school special for all children. During the first week of school I will send information to help those returning to in person learning on September 8th be prepared. This will include arrival and dismissal procedures, daily schedule with specials, lunch, and recess, and all other safety information as we plan for our students to return to school.

I know that there are many questions out there right now. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me anytime.

 With a full HeART,
