Thoughtfully Fit®: Build Resilience in Uncertain Times
with presenter Darcy Luoma
Join Madison, Wisconsin’s favorite executive coach as she teaches you how to face any challenge – no matter how difficult – using a model she herself has tested under extreme fire.
In difficult times, it can feel like everything is out of our control and we have no choices. Darcy Luoma knows this firsthand, as she had to deal with the aftermath of her husband’s sudden and shocking arrest for sexual assault of a minor he met online. She put her own teachings of how to be Thoughtfully Fit® to the test for her business, her children, and herself to thrive.
Attendees will receive a copy of Darcy Luoma's book, Thoughtfully Fit: Your Training Plan for Life & Business!

Pay It Forward to Move Mountains
WSAE thinks it would be pretty awesome to be able to pay association dues and cover the costs of other resources for those industry partners and association execs who need a little extra help this year due to pandemic-related factors. The program launched at the Spring Fore-ward. Click here for more information and then give what you can - $10, $25, $50 or $100. All donors will be recognized on our website, as well as at the 2021 Summit, when the campaign concludes. We certainly are Stronger by Association!

WSAE 2022 Slate of Directors and Officers
WSAE is excited to present the 2021-2022 Slate of Directors and Officers. Thank you to all the individuals that expressed interest in leading the association through the upcoming year. The willingness of so many individuals to contribute their time and talents to WSAE is what makes us so successful. Thank you to the Nominating Committee for their work in developing a slate of candidates that will continue our commitment to being the organization of choice for association education and networking.
This slate will be officially elected during the October 26 Annual Business Meeting and Awards Luncheon, which will be held in conjunction with WSAE's 2021 Summit.

|
Proposed change to the bylaws
The Nominating Committee and Board of Directors conduct regular reviews of the bylaws. To ensure that our industry partners, who are such an important part of our association, are well-represented, the Board is recommending a change to Article VII, Section 2.
The change would allow for up to two industry partners to be a part of the eight directors at large elected by the membership. Article VII, Section 2 would now read as follows:
Article VII, Section 2
The board of directors shall consist of thirteen (13) members including the officers of the Society (named in Article V) and eight (8) directors at large elected from the voting membership including up to two (2) industry partners. In addition, the board shall include the immediate past chair of the board who shall serve one (1) year beyond his/her chair of the board position and one (1) young professional appointed by the chair and who shall serve a term of one (1) year.
Please review the bylaws (redlined version) and be prepared to vote on the proposed change at the October 26 Awards Lunch and Annual Business Meeting being held from 12-1:30 pm in conjunction with the WSAE Summit at the Brookfield Conference Center in Brookfield.

Association Acumen chosen to manage the Michigan Academy of PAs
|
|
|
Association Acumen, LLC, a full-service accredited association management company based in Menomonee Falls, has been chosen to manage the Michigan Academy of Physicians Assistants (MAPA). Formed in 1974, MAPA is the essential resource for the PA profession in Michigan and the primary advocate for PAs in the state. MAPA is committed to providing quality, cost effective and accessible health care through the promotion of professional growth and enhancement of the PA practice environment. MAPA has over 1,200 members.

Impact Association Management announces internal promotions amid company restructure
|
|
|
Impact Association Management is pleased to announce the promotion of Kirsten Reader to Chief Operations Officer (COO) and the promotion of Caroline Bowers to Client Services Manager (CSM). These two well-deserved promotions not only celebrate Reader and Bowers’ valuable contributions to the Impact team, but they also fit strategically within Impact’s recent company restructure.
In 2020 and 2021 alone, the Madison-based association management company successfully accomplished multiple key milestones, including opening two new nation-wide locations and welcoming a host of new clients from a wide variety of industries. To navigate the new needs of its growing team and customer base,
Impact underwent a full company restructure in July of 2021.
“After hearing from both clients and employees about how they'd like to see Impact
serve them, we had strategic conversations about how we can set our clients, our
employees, and the company up for success in the years ahead,” Reader said.
In her role as COO, Reader will continue to lead both the team and client management for the company, as well as help Impact CEO, Jodi Fisher, with the strategic growth of the company. “I’m excited for this next chapter at Impact! We’re making great progress towards our strategic goals and I look forward to being a part of the company’s continued growth in the coming years,” says Reader.
|
|
One critical component of Impact’s company restructure was the introduction of the Client Services Manager (CSM) position. Among other responsibilities, this new role supports clients during the onboarding process to ensure they are set up for success at the very beginning of their relationship with Impact. The CSM also acts as Executive Director for select Impact clients, leads company-wide initiatives, and mentors Impact team members.
Bowers is an ideal candidate to take on this role, as she has proven herself invaluable to both the Impact
team and her clients. She joined Impact in 2018 as an Association Manager and quickly helped her clients achieve their unique missions and make a difference in the lives of their members.

Faith-based organization finds a new convention home in the City of Steeples
Cru – ranked No. 25 in Forbes’ Top 100 U.S. Charities – has chosen Milwaukee for its 2022 National Staff Conference. What you need to know about adding a vaccine requirement for your events
In the wake of federal mandates and high COVID-19 cases, more associations are considering imposing a vaccine requirement for in-person attendees. Here’s what you need to know about the legal considerations, verifying vaccination, and state bans. Read more.

ASAE announces event vaccination policy:
Beginning with ASAE’s Summit Awards on September 30 and extending to all in-person meetings and events afterward, all registrants for ASAE meetings or events will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination onsite before entering the meeting venue. The only exemption to this policy will be religious or medical reasons. When this occurs, specific health protocols must be followed, and otherwise, attendees will not be admitted.
ASAE will also require registrants to submit an Acknowledgment of Personal Responsibility Form upon registering for a meeting or event and to comply with any state or local mask mandates in place for indoor events until further notice.
ASAE is working on a technology solution that will enable meeting registrants to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination during the online registration process. The availability of that option will be communicated as soon as possible.
