Library Re-opening August 12th!
We have exciting news!

While our Curbside Services have proven very popular, we know that there are many patrons who need some of the additional services, like computers, printers, etc., that can only be provided with access to the Library building.

The staff has been working hard to create a plan for opening that will maximize the safety of patrons and staff in the building, and make sure that we can provide excellent quality in those services that we can offer.

To that end we will have limited hours when we re-open on August 12th, and more restrictions than we normally do.

We will be following enhanced cleaning protocols, enforcing social distancing, and good health practices. That includes but is not limited to requiring everyone over age two to wear masks.

If Mr. Nevins can do it, so can we!

Our Hours Starting Aug. 12th:
Monday Curbside Only - 9am - 6pm (Appointments 10am – 5:45pm)
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - Building Open from 9am-6pm
  • 9am – 10am - Seniors & Other At-Risk Populations
  • 10am – 6pm - Open to All
Fri Curbside Only - 9am - 3pm (Appointments 10am-2:45pm)
Saturdays & Sundays - CLOSED
And remember, even as the Library is slowly getting back closer to normal and opening our doors, we are still more than happy to pull items off the shelf and deliver them to you via Curbside Pick-Up.

As always, please visit our website for the most complete and current information.

What's Happening in Children's?
We're Still Imagining Our Stories. Are You?
Summer Reading season is in full swing!

There are so many ways to get books and more into your kids' hands. You can still place holds and get books via curbside pick-up; view or listen to books that staff have recorded (they're on our website, and listening to stories counts towards Summer Reading goals!); read or listen to eBooks & eAudiobooks from Libby; or visit our Little Free Libraries around town. We're even hosting a Pop-up Library on August 5 at Tenney Street Park (11am-12:30pm). Come and see us there!

Like last summer, kids can also track their reading with the Beanstack app and earn virtual badges. We also have a fun array of virtual programs, mostly via Zoom and Facebook – animals, animation, puppeteers, storytimes, cooking, crafts, and more.

Last but not least, don’t forget to keep an eye out for Sir Nevins the Bear, who hangs out at a different location in Methuen each week through the middle of August -- go to our website or follow our Instagram for clues about his whereabouts and for further details about what’s coming up in the Children’s Department!
