Insight for Elected Officials – Understanding your Role as an Elected Official
During the upcoming workshop, Bryan K. Drummond, Shareholder with Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold Law Firm will be presenting information and best practices regarding how elected officials should understand their roles.

Drummond will discuss the various types of municipal governments and the role of mayor and city council members in each: Aldermanic, City Manager, Strong Mayor, Town Board of Trustees, and Charter. In addition, he will address the subjects of how to legally conduct public meetings; the issue of nepotism and conflict of interest; how to investigate harassment complaints, dismissal and hiring issues, along with ADA/FMLA/Workers Compensation.
OML, along with OU's Institute for Quality Communities is offering the Quality Communities Grant Program which will assist members with up to 50% of the funding to those communities whose projects have been selected by OU's IQC for a project in their community. More Information
