SPAAR introduces its Housing Affordability Task Force
The Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS® (SPAAR) Housing Affordability Task Force was created to research, brainstorm and discuss ideas for how to address the complex and pressing problem of Housing Affordability in Minnesota. The Task Force has crafted a set of proposals to be considered when addressing this issue. SPAAR hopes this document renews the conversation among stakeholders about how to approach this problem. SPAAR will work with said stakeholders to implement these proposals where it makes sense to do so.

The Task Force believes that Housing Affordability is an issue that needs to be addressed with a multi-pronged approach, with both short- and long-term solutions. Visit our webpage at Housing Affordability Task Force – SPAAR for more information!
SPAAR’s Professionalism Committee offers At Home With Diversity certification reimbursement
The Professionalism Committee is honoring SPAAR members who take the At Home With Diversity course, or who have already completed it, by reimbursing them for the cost of the At Home With Diversity certification of up to $75 in 2021.

SPAAR members simply need to submit a copy of the At Home With Diversity certificate and paid receipt to srichards@spaar.com and SPAAR’s Professionalism Committee will then provide reimbursement up to $75. This opportunity is directly in connection with NAR president Charlie Oppler’s Fair Housing Challenge.

What to know about Supra eKey access for non-members
Supra has secure access for non-Association members to access residential properties with authorized access from a Supra keyholder, which is available via Bluetooth keyboxes through a tablet or smartphone for a limited time of 2-to-72 hours. A non-transferable access credential is sent to the non-member’s device and the user creates his or her own Pin number for lockbox access. The non-Association member access was created with limited access, security and accountability in mind.
 
A non-member may include an appraiser, a home inspector, a repairman, etc., who do not belong to the REALTOR® Association.
 
Non-member process:
  • A Supra keyholder sends a text invitation to a non-member.
  • A Supra keyholder must activate the non-member access feature one time via a desktop or laptop computer prior to use.
  • The non-member downloads the eKey app (one time only)
  • The non-member accepts terms and conditions (one time only)
  • The non-member fills out registration (one time only)
  • The non-member enters eKey authorization code
  • The non-member will receive a text each time access to a KeyBox is granted.

NorthstarMLS upgrades its user sign-on and security
NorthstarMLS is changing to a new vendor—Remine—for its single sign-on and security. This is the system that ensures subscriber-only access to the MLS and allows you to access all NorthstarMLS systems with a single sign-on.

Members will be able to continue to login with their NRDS ID. Whenever possible, existing passwords from the old system will transfer to the new system. For members whose passwords need to change, it will be a fast and simple process.

The Remine system is equally secure and robust, yet offers more features and flexibility for greater subscriber convenience in accessing services.

The changeover is scheduled for late night Monday, September 27, with minimal disruption. There will be no change to Matrix or any of the other systems; just the underlying login/security system. Fourth quarter MLS invoices are due September 30
Fourth quarter MLS billing notices were sent to members via email on September 2 from billing@spaar.com. As a reminder, payment must be received on or before September 30 to avoid suspension of MLS access. If not paid on or before September 30, you will incur a $25 reinstatement fee. 2022 membership renewal now underway
SPAAR 2022 Membership Renewal Notices were sent by email on August 5 and August 6 from billing@spaar.com. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you do not see your renewal notice in your inbox so you do not miss any important information. 

If payment is not received on or before November 30, a $50 late payment fee will be added to the amount due. Click here to view important 2022 dues billing information. 
 
Primary Realtor® members: please review your invoice and log into your portal account no later than September 25 to take advantage of the flexible dues billing payment option. This payment option does not apply to MLS-only members, affiliates, secondary members, unlicensed Realtor® assistants or new Realtor® members.
