Families in Transition Ministry Comes to Hilton Village
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church has opened its doors to Families in Transition Ministry, a faith based Greater Hilton social service organization. FIT was founded to provide a safe and nurturing place for needy children from underserved neighborhoods to do schoolwork, be tutored, receive healthy food, broaden their horizons, and be in the company of caring adults.
Shoreline Cost Share Program for Eligible Homeowners
The James River Association (JRA) has launched a living shoreline cost-share program funded by the Virginia Environmental Endowment. The program is available to homeowners living in the Lower James River watershed with property on a tidal body of water that is experiencing erosion. JRA will provide free site visits and project design, assist with the permitting process, pay for 50% of the project cost and provide three years of maintenance.
Apply or determine eligibility at JRA's website.
