To Our District 67 Families:

Last night, the Lake Forest District 67 Board of Education adopted an amended resolution to approve the District's recommended reopening plan for in-person and remote learning.

In the amendment, the Board asked the Administration to refine its hybrid plan and to create a set of specific metrics that would guide the District’s future movement between remote, hybrid, and fully in-person learning. A special board meeting has been scheduled to discuss both efforts on Tuesday, August 11.

In the interim, to help us better gauge current interest in both hybrid in-person and remote learning, please return this form by Sunday, August 2 . Please note we are not asking families to commit to a specific learning plan at this time. We are simply measuring current preferences regarding learning modalities.

Following the August 11 special board meeting, we will share details of the updated hybrid in-person and Alternative Virtual Academy (AVA) plans by email and during elementary school and Deer Path Middle School town hall meetings to be held on Wednesday, August 12. Parents and guardians will then be sent a form and asked to make a choice for the first trimester of the 2020-2021 school year.

This is a complicated process, and we are grateful for your feedback, support, and patience. As a collective experience, our reopening will require the entire community to assist our students, staff, and schools to be successful. We need your help and appreciate your continued partnership.
Sincerely,

Michael V. Simeck
Superintendent
