Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
On the Martin Luther King Jr National Holiday i n 2019 and 2020, FPC Richardson volunteers hosted a lively and successful onsite event for elementary children, where Dr. King's lessons and legacy were emphasized and shared, along with loving fellowship and food! While current pandemic circumstances prevent hosting such an onsite event this year, FPCR families and friends might consider participating in the 2021 MLK Jr National Day of Service this Monday, January 18. You can search for local (and virtual) volunteer opportunities via this link: https://www.nationalservice.gov/serve-your-community/mlk-day-service.
Another opportunity on Monday, at 10:00am, is a webinar called Lessons from the Civil Rights Movement. It will be presented by Teach For America - Dallas-Fort Worth, in partnership with The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, and Melanin Origins Children's Books. For information and registration go to this link: https://www.mobilize.us/nationaldayofservice/event/369137/
