Glen Foerd-HFU Speaker Series: Philadelphia: The Industrial Metropolis
When Philadelphia was the "Workshop to the World," the Sellers family numbered among the city's leading industrial families, developing canals, railroads, and manufacturing goods ranging from textiles to steel frames for bridges and skyscrapers. As Philadelphia deindustrialized in the 20th century, the Sellers family fortunes also declined. Dr. Domenic Vitiello, an urban historian from the University of Pennsylvania, will examine the rise and fall of Philadelphia as an industrial metropolis through a focus on the Sellers family and their network of associates.

The event will take place in the  ETC Auditorium on  Thursday, November 10, at  7 pmAll lectures are free and open to the public.

Nativity and Tree Lighting
We invite all alumni to join us for our first annual Nativity and Christmas Tree Lighting on Tuesday, November 29th at 7pm. Bring the whole family for a night of Christmas fun including music, light refreshments and pictures with Santa Tiger!

Our Christmas tree will be decorated with blue and white roses, with each rose representing a Blue and White fund donor. You can add a rose to the tree by becoming a donor-  make a gift to the Blue and White fund today!

These roses reflect the spirit of the Christmas Rose and we hope all alumni will participate in this new tradition.
