Mr. Benjamin Tweel is a Senior Cyber Crime Specialist in Bank of America’s Global Information Security (GIS) team and is currently working with clients to strengthen financial cyber security through best practices, education and awareness.
Dealers can be uniquely susceptible to cyber threats for many reasons, including the significant amounts of customer data store and your high-value transactions. That’s why protecting your dealership and financial data from theft should be a top priority. Mr. Tweel is looking forward to sharing this timely and relevant information on cyber security with members and guests of ADOMA.

As the world opens, I am surprised how much has just continued right where it stopped. I guess the optimist in me hoped a few things would be better. We need each other more than ever. It does not matter what type of product your dealership sells or what computer system you use, we all are doing the same job with the same challenges. ADOMA is one place we can all go to receive information that affects and helps our industry.

On February 27, 2021 and March 6, 2021 the House and Senate, respectively, passed versions of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, both of which extend the Families First Coronavirus Relief Act’s (FFCRA) tax credit for paid leave related to COVID-19.

Increased scrutiny of F&I likely under Biden administration

With the Biden administration moving forward with naming its leaders of important enforcement agencies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC), dealers should expect to see an increase in enforcement actions targeting F&I departments.
