GoMOSES 2020 a Time of Reflection and Anticipation
The final Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Sciences (GoMOSES) conference in Tampa, Florida, welcomed nearly 700 people, representing 32 U.S. states and 10 countries, and included 82 oral sessions and two poster sessions.
A pre-conference symposium offered reflections on research accomplishments and collaborations fostered through the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GoMRI) since the 2010 Deepwater Horizon incident.
The conference concluded with the exciting anticipation of future Gulf-focused convenings at a new bi-annual Gulf of Mexico Conference (GoMCON) that will combine the GoMOSES conference with the Harte Research Institute's tri-annual Gulf Summit and the Gulf of Mexico Alliance's annual All Hands meeting.

And the Paddle the Gulf logo winner is ...
University of Alabama student, Kiley Peruch, is the winning designer for the Paddle the Gulf initiative!
The Paddle the Gulf working group recently announced the winning logo for the new initiative. Paddle the Gulf aims to network and showcase coastal blueway paddle trails throughout the five Gulf of Mexico States (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida). They hope to enhance public awareness and promote stewardship of the region's coastal resources.

DOI NPS FY2020 Tribal Heritage Grant Program
The Tribal Heritage grants will fund a broad range of planning, development, and research projects for cultural resources including: survey, inventory, oral histories, interpretation, education, architectural services, historic structure reports, preservation plans, and bricks and mortar repair. The deadline is March 11, 2020

NFWF Fishing for Energy 2020
Request for Proposals The NFWF, on behalf of partners Covanta Energy Corporation and the NOAA Marine Debris Program, is pleased to announce the Fishing for Energy availability of up to $500,000 in grant funding to support strategies to reduce the impacts of derelict fishing gear to marine and coastal environments and navigational safety. The deadline is March 31, 2020

NOAA NMFS 2020 BREP Bycatch Reduction Engineering Program Grants
The mission of BREP is to support the development of technological solutions and changes in fishing practices designed to minimize bycatch of fish and protected species (including Endangered Species Act-listed fish, marine mammals, seabirds, and sea turtles) and to reduce impacts to invertebrates (including sponges, deep-sea corals, and shallow (tropical) corals.) The deadline is April 2, 2020
