The City and County of Broomfield is committed to providing frequent news, updates and information related to the developing COVID-19 situation. Please find more resources at BroomfieldHealth.org and follow us on Facebook and Twitter .

Please be mindful that information may change rapidly, even by the hour.
Public Health Update
  • Broomfield residents should operate under the assumption that the COVID-19 coronavirus is here and the best thing we can do now is to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, staying home for all but essential outings, and practicing the best possible hand hygiene. While you may not think you are personally at risk, this is for the protection of our most vulnerable. Read the full community message from Broomfield’s Public Health Director.
  • As the private labs that are conducting testing are starting to upload their results in batches, we expect we will continue to see more confirmed cases involving Broomfield residents.
  • The key message continues to be to self-isolate if you have COVID-19 type symptoms. It’s up to all of us to take proactive steps to protect our most vulnerable; older adults (60+) and those with underlying health conditions, specifically respiratory issues, heart disease, and diabetes.
  • If you develop a fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please protect others by isolating yourself and practice self-care at home. There is no reason to go to hospitals unless you need urgent/emergent care (for instance, if you experience severe respiratory issues or difficulty breathing).View information on isolation and quarantine.

Police Department Updates
Broomfield’s Detention Center is reducing its population by 20%, with more being released to limit exposure in jail. Most jails are following similar measures to release non-violent offenders and work release to preserve staffing for other duties, reduce potential exposure in the jail, free space for isolation areas if necessary, etc. All this is done in coordination with the judges.
#WeAreBroomfield
Check out this positive #WeAreBroomfield moment captured by our beloved Broomfield Police Officers “I was patrolling yesterday and noticed this family very excitedly gathering trash from around a walking path in Broomfield. They collected three huge bags! It was beautiful to see these kiddos outside, enjoying the nice weather, and doing good for their community even though things in the world are crazy right now. They're a selfless bunch of little humans!”
