Each legislator is permitted to carry up to five bills each session.
Our first bill request deadline is Monday, November 26. That's a week earlier than usual and is less than two months away. The Legislative Session convenes on Friday, January 4, 2019.
An earlier than normal convening date means earlier bill request deadlines. This year, each returning legislator must submit three of his or her five bill requests to the Office of Legislative Legal Services no later than Monday, November 26, 2018.
Please consider taking a moment to fill out the following survey about the legislative issues that are important to you. Your feedback will help me focus on the issues that matter most to District 19.
Last session, I worked very closely with my colleagues on the Senate Transportation Committee on
Senate Bill 001 to fund transportation. In fact, I've been working on transportation policy for several years now, dating back to my time on the Arvada City Council.
This fall, you will have the opportunity to consider two different transportation proposals on your November ballot. CDOT has produced a side-by-side comparison of the two measures that I think is helpful in understanding how they are different.
As I have stated in previous town halls, I am endorsing
Proposition 110 as I believe it is the best solution for addressing our needs. Also, I believe Proposition 109 (which will appear on your ballot before Prop 110) is a dangerous proposal that will necessitate cuts to other priorities.
