Wacky emails
We get about 15,000 visitors per week so we have a lot of people contacting us. Some weeks are more prolific when it comes to weird emails, and this was one:

1) "We are looking for a producers of Natural sheep placenta Extract Capsules for anti-aging"

...damn, should have invested in sheep placenta futures.

2) "Dear Sir/Madam,
We specialize in manufacturing antivirus bucket hat and baseball cap in China.
Jolly Chen
Sale manager"

...we imagine these hats must have things like "Go Home Virus!" and "Make Earth Healthy Again" printed on them.

3)"I have Corona virus medicine it work 100 %"

...you should probably be emailing the Nobel committee, not BioPharmGuy, though we suspect some corners may have been cut in clinical development on this one

IPOs Still Rolling
Wall Street is falling apart, but three brave companies filed their IPOs this week: Zentalis Pharmaceutical (Phase1/2, $100M), Lyra Therapeutics (Phase 2, $57.5M) and Ayala Pharmaceuticals (Phase 2 $50M). At least they're down the clinical pipeline unlike many IPOs lately.

InSightec
They just raised $150M in a Series F round. When a 21 year-old company still needs external funding like this, isn't that a pretty bad sign? Shouldn't they be selling something and profiting by now? Finance is a mystery to BioPharmGuy.

Tempus
Not to be outdone by a trivial F round, Tempus just raised a $100M G round. In a way, much more impressive considering the company is just five years old, but seven rounds in five years is a little extreme.

COVID-19
It's official - everything is cancelled due to COVID-19, including our coverage of it. Every news outlet in the world is covering it 24/7 now, so you should be good on this topic.

Before we sign off, can we talk about all these asymptomatic celebrities getting positive tests for coronavirus? How many more got negative tests we didn't hear about? Meanwhile a friend of BioPharmGuy's in Seattle who had 10 days of flu symptoms and an X-ray diagnosed pneumonia was denied the test because she wouldn't have been admitted anyways since her symptoms weren't severe enough. #America
