ALL KIDS DESERVE TO HAVE ACCESS TO FOOD EVERY DAY, 365 DAYS A YEAR.
|
During the months of July and August, we distributed 20,890 free breakfasts and lunches to Port Chester School District children at Thomas A. Edison and JFK Elementary Schools. (That number has increased from the 16,919 we distributed in July and August of 2020.)
Thank you to the district employees who helped us with the distributions every day during the summer months.

WE CONTINUE TO FEED OUR COMMUNITY
Our Carver Market & Food Operation Delivers
The number of people coming to our Carver Market has stayed consistent this year. 1,497 children, 1,591 adults, and 539 seniors received pre-packaged meals at our Carver Market weekly distributions in August.
Between the months of April 2020 through August 2021, we have served 22,768 households.
With help from Meals on Main Street and the Red Cross, Carver has provided 320 meals to our displaced families and neighbors from Mamaroneck/White Plains who were affected by Hurricane Ida. We have also seen an uptick in new clients at our Carver Market.

PASSING ON THE LOVE OF THE ARTS AND CREATIVITY!
Special thanks to Carver Board Member, Laura Iverson, who stopped by recently with her daughter, Inga. They graciously donated their much-loved, "Inga's Art Cart" to Carver Center. Laura's Mom was a teacher who embraced Inga's early interest in art with great enthusiasm. Inga’s “Art Cart” supported years of creative activities at their house and they wanted it to move on to a new home where it would be useful and appreciated. We will continue the tradition, Laura!

WELCOME BACK TEENS!
Our Teen Center provides a safe and positive environment where teens can spend their free time developing new skills, finding support for life challenges, and preparing for their future. Teens have the opportunity to participate in recreational activities, and attend various college workshops that will help them navigate through the college selection and application process.
The center is fully equipped with computers, test prep materials, recreation tables, a flat screen TV along with game consoles, a music studio, and a STEAM makerspace.

AS A REMINDER, PLEASE HELP US SAVE LIVES!
Carver Center and the American Red Cross are hosting an upcoming blood drive on September 29 from 1:00pm - 6:00pm.
Won't you join our lifesaving mission and schedule an appointment today!
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
