REMINDER FROM MRS. BUHLER:
I would like to remind you of the importance of your child’s face mask. Since our students are required to wear them throughout their day, it is important that they be washed frequently or exchanged for a new one. I have noticed that some of the “gator-style” masks have stretched out over time, making it difficult for children to keep them in place. Because your child is not wearing a mask around the house like they wear it at school, you may not be aware of some of these concerns. Please take a look at your child’s mask.  We do have extra masks in the office if your child is in need. Wearing a mask is one simple step that can go a long way in protecting the health of your child as well as others.

Social Media, the Internet, and
Your Child's Safety

Frequent discussions with your child about online safety and their online lives
can have a major influence on a child's behavior.

Interact! is an online, interactive, e-course created for parents and guardians to complete with their children, with the goal of sparking basic online safety discussions in the home. This 30 minute module provides parents with the opportunity to review their own tech use to set a good online example; interactive activities to complete alongside their children; and follow-up resources and activities to keep the discussions going. Be your child’s trusted adult. Interact! and stay safe!

The Interact! program was created by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

FREE STUDENT BREAKFAST AND LUNCH

The Lake Geneva School District has received an extension for the Federal Summer Food Service Program. Lake Geneva Schools students are eligible for one FREE breakfast and one FREE lunch daily for the entire 2020-2021 school year. We encourage each student to take advantage of our nutritious meals at no cost. This will require no action on your part, just show up! Additional meals, milk, or a la carte purchases will be debited from the students' account. If your family has already paid toward your lunch balance we ask that you please leave the balance for future use. Thank you.

Please note that the elementary milk break is not included in the waiver, because it is a state program. The cost for milk break is $50 per year unless a free and reduced application is returned and approved.

New virtual students that would like to pick-up meals please contact Donna Ecklund at 262-348-1015.
Parent & Student Reminders

Limit Non-Essential Visitors
In an effort to protect the health and safety of our community, only essential visitors will be allowed on school campuses to minimize the number of people on-site. Parents picking up/dropping off are encouraged to use pickup/drop off zones. No outside guests will be allowed to visit classrooms or cafeterias. All efforts will be made to keep necessary visitors to a minimum. If a parent needs to deliver an essential item to their student during the school day, please call the school office prior to arriving to make the necessary arrangements.

Most meetings with families will take place virtually unless an in-person meeting is necessary. Parents meeting on-site with school staff must follow social-distancing guidelines and must wear face coverings.

Lake Geneva Schools will not allow food delivery and/or parents dropping off take out food for students for the 2020-2021 school year. Please plan on sending a packed lunch with your student in the morning or purchasing school-provided lunches.

MORNING DROP OFF INFORMATION:
Just a reminder that you may NOT drop your student off before 8:30 am. There is no student supervision before that time. We encourage all families to use our drop off zone located on Cook Street or Madison Street. No parent will be allowed to walk their student to class.

PICK-UP and BUS CHANGE INFORMATION:
If you are picking up your child for an appointment during the day, a parent or guardian needs to call the office at 262-348-4000, send a note with the student or write on your child's communication card to let us know. If there is a change to the way your child is going home at the end of the day, a parent or guardian will need to send a note or call the office before 3:15 p.m.

If there is a change to your child's normal bus routine, we require a note or a phone call by a parent or guardian to the school, 262-348-4000, to make that change. Please do so before 3:15 p.m.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Don't forget about the Daily At-Home Health Check: https://bit.ly/3jFUlMU

Please complete it daily prior to sending your student to school. It is vital to ask the questions on the checklist each and every day to prevent the possibility of exposing other students or staff. This checklist is to be filled out at home, daily on the honor system. It is not required to be handed into the school.

If you answer yes to any of the questions on the checklist:
- Keep your student home.
- Let the school office know the questions which were answered yes.
- Follow the appropriate guidelines for when to return to school: https://bit.ly/3hTRvU3

Thank you!

NEW INFORMATION ADDED!
