Call to Artists
"Love Your Library" Show
The Mezzanine Gallery at the Norman Williams Public Library (NWPL) invites area artists to participate in a group show celebrating the beauty of our library.

The "Love Your Library" exhibit will run January 3 - February 15, 2019, to coincide with the Friends of the Norman Williams Public Library's day of activities and "National Love Your Library" month.

At many libraries around the country, February is dedicated to the people who love the buildings devoted to the reading, housing, organizing, categorizing, finding, studying and otherwise loving books.

Soul Focus with Jane Lee Wolfe is being postponed until 2019.
More information will be forthcoming when available. Thank you for your patience.
In contemporary culture, learning how to take care of the soul is given far less emphasis than how to take care of the body or the mind.  The intention of "Soul Focus" is to help participants achieve spiritual health and fitness over the course of an ongoing workshop. By reviewing the nature of the soul and what the soul needs to be healthy, participants will receive simple tools to attain and maintain spiritual health and fitness. . . . (more)

This is NOT the usual book club. We chat about books you are reading, the books you've loved, and the books you've always wanted to read.

Along with great book recommendations, our discussions have ranged from the design and appeal of book jackets, the e-book revolution, which books we reread and why, modern writers, the craft of writing, and the elements of great writing.   We all come away energized and eager for more. Do drop in.   (more info)

Classics Book Discussion Group:
A House for Mr. Biswas
This book, by Nobel Prize winner V.S.Naipaul, who died this year, is thought by many critics to be his most significant novel. Drawing some elements from the life of his father in Trinidad, the novel looks at the vanished colonial world from a post- colonial perspective. The title character strives to find his freedom and a house of his own.      (more info)
