We have been lucky enough to have Paige as a part of the MCUM family for the past 4 years as our Cox Scholar(ACE). We are thankful to have been a part of this chapter of her life, and we have no doubt that she will be successful in the rest of her endeavors. Thank you, Paige. We will miss you!
A message from Paige:
Upon graduating from Indiana University in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Business, I will be moving to Chicago and working for NielsenIQ as a BASES Analyst. I cannot wait to jump into the Consumer Packaged Goods industry and pursue my passion for product innovation and strategy. One thing that I am particularly proud to be bringing with me are the lessons that I have learned at MCUM. On my first day here, I thought that this would be just like any other part time job that I have had over the years. Very quickly I realized that MCUM is not the same as anywhere or anything else that I have ever been part of. While I have volunteered and been involved in philanthropic efforts before, I have never had the opportunity to be part of something quite as thoughtful and consumer-centric as MCUM.
At MCUM, I have learned...
To listen more to those around me; be aware that everyone has a unique story that we know nothing about from the outside.
The importance of exercising our ability to use various perspectives in order to learn about the world around us.
How diverse and truly special the Monroe County community is. How do we break it to more IU students that there is a world outside of the university bubble?!
That we need real, concrete change coming from many angles in order to fight generational poverty. We cannot rise to the top as a country without bringing those impacted by generational poverty with us.
The importance of giving back to the communities who need it most (and having a little fun while doing so).
THANK YOU, MCUM! The opportunity that I never quite knew I needed, and the one that I will surely never forget.
