Dear Friends of WTLC,

The holiday season is a time of the year that is often filled with joy and cheer, but for survivors spending their holiday in a shelter, it can be a hard, and stressful time. Spending the holidays in an unfamiliar place that is not home and is not with family, is tough as many of us consider both of those to be pillars of the holidays.

Our staff are doing our best to try to make our shelter space a home for every survivor that stays with us, especially during Stay-at-Home orders due to the global pandemic. In December, our staff planned a COVID-friendly holiday event for over 75 families and children at WTLC's Center. Each family that made an appointment with their Advocate, was able to stop by WTLC's Center to pick up food for a holiday dinner, a bag with holiday snacks including a cookie-decorating kit, a bag with holiday crafts for the kids, a gift card to Kroger to pick up essential items, and children were able to choose their gifts from our Toy Room.

For adults, WTLC continues to provide housing, legal, and counseling services, as well as Personal Empowerment classes, parenting classes, and support groups via remote services.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your contribution to make it possible for us to continue to provide life-essential services during the holidays. Your support goes a long way, not only this holiday but for the whole year through. The survivors at WTLC will have a merrier holiday because of you.

With gratitude,

The Staff and Survivors of WTLC
