Sunapee Happenings
Bluebirds are a familiar harbinger of spring, they are also a successful conservation story. Read Story
Writing this in a bit of haste… it’s a beautiful day and my garden is beckoning me outside. Spring is suddenly summer! While daffodils are still glorious, the dandelions are bursting into bloom. Bluebirds have joined the Robins in our trees. Boats are being launched and convertible cars are on the road again. So many signs of the most welcome season ease dreaded thoughts of a repeat of Mother’s Day 2017 when Sunapee was covered in snow!

Retirement of Chief Cahill
Procession and Community Open House on May 13th!

Chief David P. Cahill is retiring after 20 years as the Sunapee Police Chief and 35 total years in Law Enforcement. The community is invited to come celebrate his many accomplishments! First, there will be a procession for Chief Cahill which will begin at the Sunapee Police Department at 2pm and will move to Sunapee Harbor! Later that evening, a Community Open House will be held at The Livery in Sunapee Harbor from 5pm to 7pm. The Livery was also the former location of the Sunapee Police Department prior to 2006 and was where the Sunapee Police Department was located when Chief Cahill began his tenure as Sunapee Police Chief.

This event will be held in the newly refurbished "Riverside" room, which will be used for the very first time at this event as its debut! We are very honored share in this moment with The Livery Board and Sunapee Heritage Alliance and are grateful to have this space to celebrate the retirement of Chief Cahill. Hope to see you on May 13th!

*Please Note: You may access this event from River Road, across the covered bridge.
