We are expanding our hours starting in April, including opening till 8 on Tuesdays.
|
|
We're so pleased to be able to expand our hours this month, and slowly expand our services in the months ahead. But numbers on the Cape are still high. We kindly ask that you continue to take all safety precautions when visiting the library. Though you may have had the vaccine, most of our staff members are not yet eligible, and those of you who have been vaccinated can still potentially spread COVID. SO, we request that you:
- DO wear a mask over your mouth and nose while on the Library grounds
- DO continue to observe social distancing guidelines
- DO continue to wash your hands or sanitize
- Please DON'T come behind the circulation desk or enter staff spaces
Thanks so much! We really appreciate it.

Zoom Film Screening and Discussion: Decoding the Weather Machine
Disastrous hurricanes. Widespread droughts and wildfires. Withering heat. Extreme rainfall. It is hard not to conclude that something’s up with the weather, and many scientists agree. It’s the result of the weather machine itself—our climate—changing, becoming hotter and more erratic. In this two-hour documentary, NOVA will cut through the confusion around climate change. Why do scientists overwhelmingly agree that our climate is changing, and that human activity is causing it? How and when will it affect us through the weather we experience? And what will it take to bend the trajectory of planetary warming toward more benign outcomes? Join scientists around the world on a quest to better understand the workings of the weather and climate machine we call Earth, and discover how we can be resilient—even thrive—in the face of enormous change.
Registration is Required. To receive Movie Streaming link (which you can view at any time prior to the discussion), email [email protected]. We will discuss the movie over ZOOM on April 20th.

The film explores the vulnerability of LGBTQ communities to climate disasters and also lifts up queer and trans strategies for resilience, transition, and survival.
