On Demand Courses for Campaign Workers
Like candidate courses in NDTC's Online Academy, on-demand courses for staff are interactive and available online 24/7. There is no application or interview process to access the courses.
And we just added even MORE courses to fit your needs.
See courses currently available HERE . Scroll down past the candidate courses to view courses for staff. Take as many or as few as you'd like on your own schedule.
You can even choose an area of career concentration with a suggested course progression and syllabus for each. These primarily include fundraising and digital, but will be helpful to all campaign staffers. If you're a campaign manager, many of our courses will be helpful to you, too.

You can take courses just in your preferred area of concentration or you can explore the entire course catalog to fill in knowledge gaps and gain a better understanding of the workings of a campaign.

Already working on a campaign?
Great! Our on-demand training is perfect for you.
If you already have a campaign job and want to sharpen or expand your skill sets, pick and choose which courses are right for you!

Seeking a campaign job, but couldn't commit to the Staff Academy program?
On-demand campaign staff training is the answer. Here you can get the tools and training you need to pursue a career in politics, but do it on your own time schedule.

Not sure if politics is right for you?
If you are unsure if politics is right for you, but want to learn more and build your skills while doing that, on-demand campaign staff training is the best place to start.

Been waiting for a sign to pursue that career as a campaign staffer you've always dreamed of?
This is it.

PLATTE COUNTY SALES TAX STRUCTURE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Platte County Sales Tax Structure Advisory Committee (Committee) was established by the Platte County Commission on October 7, 2019. As stated in the resolution adopted by the commission, the purpose of the committee is "To make a tax structure recommendation concerning dedicated funding for long term predictable financial stability that prioritizes law enforcement operations and supports parks and stormwater operations and maintenance."

The Committee has obtained budget information and heard presentations from Daniel Erickson (Parks Director), Sheriff Mark Owen, Prosecutor Eric Zahnd, and Presiding Judge Van Amburg. Sheriff Owen and Prosecutor Zahnd said staff salaries need to be raised to remain competitive and there is a need for more office space. Sheriff Owen also said there is a need to expand the jail at some point. Judge Van Amburg said the Court is doing alright at this time but there may be a need to add a judge and court later.  Daniel Erickson presented a 10-year budget that did not include funds for any new parks or park enhancements.

There are no plans to obtain public input. No public forums. No surveys. No focus groups. The commissioners have decided they do not want to add to our parks and recreation amenities in Platte County and they do not care what you and I think about it. There are good, dedicated people on the committee, but it is looking more and more like it was set up just for the commissioners to say "public input" was involved in a decision they have already made.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2020, 6:00 p.m., at the Platte County Resource Center.
Missouri Democratic Party Survey
At the end of this year, the Missouri Democratic Party is taking a pause to reach out to all of our stakeholders and friends to find out their opinion on how we're doing and what they would like to see from us. We hope that you can take a few minutes to complete this survey and help us plan for 2020.
Disinformation - How You Can Fight It
Disinformation is threatening the democratic process, and an all-of-society problem needs an all-of-society solution. This week, the DNC reiterated their commitment to protecting our democracy by working with social media companies, government agencies, campaigns, state parties, and the general public to combat disinformation online. Please go to www.democrats.org/disinfo   and share the documents with your community and social networks. It's our hope that by sharing these recommendations publicly and far and wide, we will be able to educate the democratic ecosystem and the general public about disinformation.
