"When I am asked about my coming out story, my initial thought is always “which time?” Followed swiftly with “Came out as what?” I am gender-queer, unapologetically Black, manage fibromyalgia, and am Queer (in both sexual orientation and political stance). I have come out so many times, in so many ways, and as so many parts of my identity."

Additionally, the Alliance has put together antiracism resources for white people seeking to deepen or begin antiracism work.

"The spirit of the Confederate past that is manifest in this monument is not representative of the spirit we would wish to be the present of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, nor their future."

"For one week this coming July, I am to teach an intensive online class, “The Art of the Commonplace: Being a Pastor in Uncommon Times,” through the Vancouver School of Theology (VST), University of British Columbia."

"The direct action in the streets protesting police brutality and resistance to systemic racism has nurtured hope for the possibility of positive change in our nation. Another way our democracy can change and be strengthened is by voting in this upcoming election."

C ondolences to the Baugh Family
By The Alliance Staff
The Alliance joins our voice with Baptists across our nation mourning the death of Barbara Nell “Babs” Baugh as well as celebrating the impact of her life and work motivated by a desire to make a difference. The work of the Alliance that captured her interest, as well as the Eula Mae and John Baugh Foundation’s support, is the Alto da Mina Chamber Orchestra, a ministry that has been changing the lives of young people in northeast Brazil since 2015. ( See the Nov. 18 article which tells a full story of the orchestra ) The Alliance is grateful for Babs Baugh’s life, witness, and generosity that continues to make ministries like the Alto da Mina Chamber orchestra possible!
