SB 266 (Perry) will be considered by the Senate Commerce and Tourism Committee today at 3:30 p.m. ET.
A late-filed amendment (barcode203018) has been filed to SB 266 that would “undo” several provisions that would give cities tools to regulate home-based businesses to ensure they do not adversely impact their neighbors and their community.
Remove a provision that requires a home-based business to be consistent with the residential character of the dwelling unit.
Weaken a provision for the detection of noise, vibration, heat, smoke, dust, glare, fumes, or odors.
Weaken provisions allowing local governments to regulate parking at home-based business.
Restrict the ability of cities to restrict hours of operation between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
FLC is neutral on SB 266 without the late-filed amendment. Please oppose the late-filed amendment.
