Prayer for Spiritual Communion:
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most holy Eucharist. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

Archbishop Etienne invites us to seek the intercession of Our Lady of Seattle in response to the global spread of the Corona virus:

Holy Mary, we come before you as spiritual children in great need, seeking your intercession, and asking that your mantle of love surround us to console, protect, and lead us to your son Jesus.

We entrust all of God's family, especially the church in Western Washington, into your immaculate hands.  With your son Jesus' gentle power you can undo any knot in our church, and in the lives of believers who entrust themselves to your care.

Today I especially entrust to you [mention request/Coronavirus here], and I ask that - through your intercession, and that of St James, or guardian angels, and the faithful in our archdiocese - we may be free form every spiritual and temporal ill, and be safely led to encounter your son's merciful, sacred heart.

Our Lady of Seattle, Undoer of Knots, pray for us!
For the safety of our staff and to help prevent the spread of this virus the Parish Office will be closed temporarily starting Friday, March 20th.  We are still available if you need us!  We will be checking our emails and phone messages daily throughout this time.  Click here for a staff directory.  Email is probably the best way to reach most of us.

My father works every day to support us, to provide the food that we need and to earn money to pay for school.   -Maria Ana
Maria Ana begins each morning by thanking God for a new day. After saying her prayers and taking a bath, she helps her mother make tortillas before she puts on her uniform and walks to school with her two younger brothers.
"I feel happy when I'm studying," says Maria Ana, whose favorite subjects are math, science and physical education. In school, Maria Ana also learns about ways she and her family can stay healthy, including washing fruits and vegetables before eating them. And, Maria Ana is able to bring some of that nutritious food home with her, thanks to the CRS school lunch program.
Maria Ana is especially grateful to her father, Don Cristobal, for working hard to send her to school. "My father works every day to support us, to provide the food that we need and to earn money to pay for school."

Opening Up to What is Possible in a Crisis
As I mentioned last week, the coronavirus pandemic is challenging all of us. And many in the world are suffering and even dying because of Covid-19. In addition, many more people throughout the world are suffering because of the efforts to reduce or stop transmission of the coronavirus. These efforts, while saving lives, have, unfortunately, adversely affected people's livelihoods. In addition, some people can no longer get the medical care or other services that they need. This brings me great sadness, of course, and should not be minimized.  Read more...
