Learn what a Just Transition to a Green Economy would look like in our February Issues Discussion

Interested in learning more about what "just transition" to a green economy means - and should mean, for women in particular?  We will look at Parkland Institute's previous work on just transition issues, including at the intersection with gender, and some emerging stuff on the green new deal (for Canada).

Group discussion will explore personal intersections with just transition & dreams for a green new deal.

Join us for an evening of learning, dreaming and discussion!

This project is supported by the Pilot Fund for Gender Equality, a collaboration between Community Foundations of Canada and the Equality Fund, with support from the Government of Canada.

February Workshops

For a full list of upcoming February workshops and to register view our calendar here

All women are welcome to join us. We are holding space to have conversations and learn more about Indigenous cultures with the Aboriginal Friendship Centre. This workshop we will be learning how to make "Traditional Smudge Kits."
The purpose of this workshop is to understand what active diversity is, and to spend some time discussing barriers that women who use the Centre are often facing. Learn how the Women's Centre works to celebrate diversity and fight oppression, both in our individual interactions and in broader society.

Join us on the second Wednesday of every month.  Together, we will eat some food, connect with other women, share our skills, and learn from each other. This month join one of the Artists in Residence in a mending circle, where we will explore the slow stitching movement by working with clothing and linens.
Our Vision: Women Supporting Communities, Communities Supporting Women.
