What made your decide to become a beach walker? My family has enjoyed turtles for years. My folks have ponds of Eastern Painted turtles that we watched hatch. A few times, if a nest hatched too late, I would winter over the babies in a big aquarium until we could release them in the spring. Every time I would vacation in the Keys, I would visit The Turtle Hospital to learn about sea turtles. So naturally, I was quite excited to take the training to become a beach walker for sea turtle nesting.
What is your favorite species of turtle and why? Sea turtles are amazing creatures. I am constantly fascinated by them and love all species. I would love to see a momma dig her nest or a nest hatch once in my life!
What is your best eco-friendly tip?
Pick up your trash and stop using single-use or any plastic for that matter!
