Message to Members: Bill 207 - Poll Results
Last month's President and Executive Director's message provided us with an opportunity to engage in a deeper conversation with our members and reflect on our position. We sent out a follow-up email with a poll and an invitation for feedback. Here were the results from our poll question "Do you Support Bill 207? ":

  • 80% - No, Opposed

Honouring Outstanding Family Practices

During the month of November, members of the ACFP staff visited two clinics who demonstrate the pillars of the Patient’s Medical Home (PMH). Both clinics continue to grow (in size and staff) and provide similar advice when it comes to adopting the PMH model; look to the PMH clinics you admire for an initial framework and tailor the principles of the PMH to the unique needs of your community.

The How and Why of Going Back to Residency

After 3 years of working as a full-fledged family physician with special interest in the elderly, I decided to return back to residency for further training in Care of the Elderly.

It took a great deal of deliberation to make that decision, including consideration of financial sustainability, how would resident schedule work with family schedule, and what I hope to gain from a Certificate of Added Competence (CAC). For each physician...

Answer: Up to 40 certified credits can be carried over to the next cycle.

Carry-over credits are applicable only if extra credits are reported beyond the required 125 certified (and 250 total) credits from the last completed cycle.

Non-certified activities are those that have not been formally reviewed by the College but comply with the College’s definition of CPD, are non-promotional in nature, and provide valuable professional learning opportunities. There are many activities and learning experiences you can claim non-certified credits for. However, there are some activities that do not qualify for Mainpro+ credits.
