The leaves are beginning to fall in Humboldt County and with it comes the most unpredictable weather known to mankind, one day its a muggy 71 degrees, and the next day there's flash flooding that closes all of the businesses in Arcata. The silver lining of our enigmatic weather is the start of the holiday season, which means the opening of our local Humboldt County pumpkin patches. This year it looks like we will have a few different options to choose from with Warren Creek Farms and Organic Matters Ranch being the two most popular choices.
Warren Creek Farm is located at 1199 Mad River Rd in Arcata and opens this Saturday (9.28.19). They are open on the weekdays from 12p-6p and on the weekends from 10a-6p. They typically have a large assortment of pumpkins, from your standard orange jack-o-lanterns, to the more decorative white, green and striped versions. They usually have a corn/sunflower maze and when your ready to leave, you can stop by they're produce stand to pick up some more seasonal goodies.
Organic Matters Ranch is located at 6821 Myrtle Ave in Eureka (really it's between Bayside and Freshwater on Old Arcata Rd) and opened this past Monday (9.23.19). They are open on the weekdays from 12p-6p and on the weekends from 10a-6p. They also have a large assortment of pumpkins, big, small and every color, a corn maze, and a great produce stand. Don't forget to check their calendar of events at: http://organicmattersranch.com/calendar/10/2019 to catch some live music, face painting and food vendors!
