I like to listen to podcasts when I am doing activities like driving. Podcasts are a bit like talk radio programs, except they are downloaded and can be listened to on demand. There are several different podcasts that I listen to regularly and one of those is called 99% Invisible. This is a narrative based podcast that focuses on the thought that goes into the things we often do not think back. Topics include graphic design, architecture, and the small design decisions that are made in everyday items. The topics are absolutely fascinating and the show is well produced and engaging. One of the points that is made frequently is that good design just works. That is why the show is called 99% Invisible. When good design is working, it is barely even noticed. Often it is only when design is done badly that it stands out in the worst possible way.

YOUTH GROUP
September 12th & 26th
We will have Youth Group every other Sunday for the rest of the year. It will be at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall and is for all students 5th-12th grade. The focus this month will be on why we read the Bible and how to read the Bible.

Super Sunday parties are back!!! The party this month will be on September 26th with a "Magician" theme. The Super Sunday parties are for children K-4th grade and begin at 5:00 p.m. Come join the fun!!!

MUSIC CARRY-IN!!!!
Wednesday, Sept. 29th
Calling all Chancel Choir members, Band members, families, and any other past and present church musicians! You are invited to our annual carry-in on Wednesday, Sept. 29th, at 6:00 p.m. at Lyn & Dave Altman's home. Beverages and tableware will be provided. Please bring a dish to share. We will have some good fellowship and food, followed by our first choir practice. We will plan to sing on Sunday, October 3rd, and the following Sundays through May. You don't have to be trained musicians to sing with the choir - you don't even have to read music! Just be ready to make a joyful noise!

FRIENDSHIP SUNDAY

LITTLE LIGHTS PRESCHOOL
Preschool has gotten off to a good start. Our preschoolers are getting used to our class routine and spending time away from their parents.
We started the year off with activities on colors. During September the classes will work on the colors green, orange, purple, brown & black. The students will enjoy looking for objects in the room that are the color of the week.
Our MWF preschoolers will continue to hear stories about Daniel. They will learn that God watches over them. Our T/TH class will continue to hear Bible stories about God making the world. They will learn that God made the world and everything in it.
They have been enjoying the new outdoor Play area!!!

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The next UMW meeting will be Tuesday, September 14th at 1:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge. All women are invited!
