GLOBE WEEKLY NEWS
This is the best resource for staying in the know.
HEY GLOBE COMMUNITY

Happy Wednesday!

Thank you to all parents and staff for your patience and grace as we continue to navigate this pandemic and doing school. You can stay up to date with our numbers around COVID by visiting our website, then click on data tracker.

Communication Protocol: When we have a positive case the school sends out a letter to the close contacts with directions to quarantine, when to test, and when they can return to campus. Then a second letter is sent to those that could have been near that student/class/grade, but are not considered a close contact, do not have quarantine requirements, but should be on alert. In each case, if you have not received a letter then your child has not been a close contact or in a class/cohort/grade near the positive case. In this instance, no news is good news.

We are still asking everyone to please fill out the free and reduced application even if you are unsure if your family will qualify. This information is confidential, is shared with the state, and it reports all of our data to show the percentage of economically disadvantaged students. This helps show that we are working towards our charter goal of increasing our socioeconomic diversity.

Email questions:

What to do if you or your child have tested positive or had close contact with someone who is positive:

Please contact the appropriate school nurse, Lindsay Reese (Lower Campus) or Cherrie Robinson (Upper Campus), immediately.

From our Nurses:

  1. Please remember to notify the nurse as well as the teachers if you are keeping your child home due to illness.
  2. If your child has concerning symptoms and you are getting him Covid-tested, his siblings must remain at home until the (hopefully) negative test result is received. If it is positive, please contact the school nurse immediately and of course, siblings must remain at home.
  3. If you have your child Covid-tested, please email the result (positive or negative) to the nurse.
  4. We ONLY accept PCR test results. Rapid antigen test results are not acceptable.

Order Your 2021-2022 Yearbook

Ollie is a wise owl. He knows that GLOBE has come full circle. Our very first kindergarten students will be 8th graders this year and he can't wait to see how they are celebrated in the 2021-22 yearbook. He knows that you and your child will want one, too!

Why buy now?
Two great reasons:
  • You are guaranteed to get a book.

How do I order?

Yearbook Recognition Ads - Now is the time to design your Eighth Grade Recognition ad. You may feature your eighth grader individually or in a group. We call these friend ads. Friend ads are eighth grade ads that highlight the strong bonds and friendships forged at GLOBE. Friend ads are a great way to preserve the memory of the times friends had together. Some examples of friend ads include:
  • Sports teams
  • Friend groups
  • Clubs
  • Just fun photos!

Carpool Reminders
Lower Campus

Morning Carpool
Your child(ren) should be ready to exit the vehicle from the passenger’s side as soon as a staff member approaches the vehicle to open the door.
Afternoon Carpool
Please enter the first - third grade carpool line from Meadowvale Drive (which eventually turns into Heritage Drive). Do not attempt to turn right onto Meadowvale from Sundown Drive. By doing so, you essentially “cut” the line of cars already waiting farther back on Meadowvale.
Please do not exit your vehicle to confront other drivers when you see them not following carpool guidelines. If you feel the need to get administration involved, please call the school at 404-464-7040.

Upper Campus

Carpool, Morning and Afternoon, is going smoothly and quickly. Thanks to everyone, especially our teachers who are working diligently to make sure it runs efficiently.

Breakfast is served daily with no pre ordering needed. Please stop by the cafeteria for Grab -n- GO breakfast.Lunch MUST be pre-ordered each day in the homeroom. Students order lunches by informing their HR teacher, when asked during attendance, if they will need school lunch for the day.
