End of Summer Update.

It is hard to believe the summer is coming to a close and fall is upon us. I am ready for cooler weather, football and the great outdoors! Thank you to all who attended, virtually or in-person, the August Membership Meeting. We have received many compliments on the venue, ability to network, presentation from board members, and overall meeting. Representative Ryan Martinez was the featured speaker and provided great insight into the legislative process. Representative Martinez authored HB 1934 and SB 748 to support our industry last legislative session. He has been a powerful advocate for the engineering community. We also raised $1300 for our local Consulting Engineers PAC and $1000 for the ACEC National PAC with some special raffle prizes going to a few lucky new PAC members! We still need more PAC PARTICIPATION and at the bottom of this newsletter is more information.

We are making progress on our strategic plan. Most notably, our Strategic Partnering Committee is hosting a booth at the Oklahoma Municipal League's Fall Conference. The Branding Committee has raised and dispersed funds for STEM scholarships. Be on the lookout for more updates on the progress of our strategic plan..

We continue to work on our PPP/FAR Credits Clause fairness. ACEC nationally is working on a fix within the US House of Representatives. We are also in talks with ODOT to have a path forward if federal legislative efforts fail. Also, ACEC National has an informative podcast that provides detailed updates. You can access it here.

Finally, ACEC is monitoring and working on the federal infrastructure bill and will keep us posted on the progress of the legislation.
