Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Messages From
Superintendent Hill:
I think that it is safe to say that 2020 has been a year like none of us have ever experienced before. We have all been on an emotional roller coaster since March. I believe that “COVID-19 fatigue” has taken its toll on many of us. Despite the ups and downs, I try to always look for lessons learned during challenging times.
My biggest takeaway from this past year has been the strength of our school community. Opinions may differ and approaches vary; however, the one thing that connects us all is our ability to put differences aside to make the best of a very difficult situation.
Time and time again, I have seen evidence of this within CCSD93 through the exceptional work of our teaching staff to adapt to incredibly difficult circumstances; our custodial, grounds, warehouse and maintenance staff who have tirelessly ensured our schools are clean, sanitized and safe; our lunchroom supervisors who distribute meals regardless of weather conditions, our paraprofessionals who have gone above and beyond in so many ways to support students; our nurses who have taken on so much to keep us healthy and safe; our school and district administrators who have navigated and led staff and students through this with incredible dedication. Regardless of role, our outstanding CCSD93 staff members have learned new ways to support our students academically, socially and emotionally. They go above and beyond to support our students and for this I am extremely grateful.
Our students and parents have shown perhaps the greatest strength of all. I am so very proud of our students for their effort and commitment to learning and growing as young people while embracing a new learning environment. Our parents, guardians, and grandparents have drastically rearranged their schedules to support our students. Both students and parents have demonstrated amazing patience, resolve and courage this year, and I am extraordinarily thankful for this.
No matter what the scenario, the genuine care and grace that is being shown for each other is overwhelming and inspiring. Our combined dedication and spirit will help us overcome the pandemic fatigue and propel us into a much better 2021.
I know the holidays will look very different this year for many of us. While we may not experience the usual gatherings we are used to, it does not mean that we cannot celebrate or show our appreciation for loved ones. On behalf of the entire CCSD93 family, I wish you happy holidays and a safe, healthy New Year. Cheers to 2021 and a new beginning! We will get through this together.

D93 Staff Provides 150 Coats to Students
This year, the entire CCSD93 staff across all schools and our District Office raised $2,800 for our Coats for Kids program, which provides warm winter apparel for students in need. It’s entirely funded by our staff, with a few additional generous donors who are family members of our staff members, and has provided 150 students with coats, 145 with hats, and 148 with gloves this year alone!
