Principal's Message

Dear Greenbriar families,

Two weeks to go and we have so much fun and learning left to fit in this year! Now that the weather has warmed up, we will be eating outside whenever possible. Please make sure your children have a yoga mat, chair or towel to sit on so they can be comfortable. As well, we appreciate parents who wave as they walk or drive by, but please refrain from coming onto school grounds or taking photos from your car during lunch or recess. Our supervisors are extremely cautious about safety and don't always know all of our parents!

We have our final determination of teacher assignments for next year and I'd like to share with the community.

  • Kindergarten: I'm excited to welcome David Mangless to Greenbriar as a kindergarten teacher next year. He currently teaches kindergarten at Meadowbrook and will be a great addition to our team. Ms. Roberts will be returning and Ms. Decker and Mrs. Shamberg will be job-sharing a kindergarten classroom next year.
  • 1st Grade: Mrs. Kowalke will return to 1st grade. Mrs. Siglin and Mrs. Sobczak will job share a classroom next year and Mrs. Weir will return full-time to 1st grade.
  • 2nd Grade: No changes: Mrs. Farrell, Mrs. Propes, and Mrs. Shulman
  • 3rd Grade: Mrs. Carlberg, Mrs. Esterling, and Mrs. Rench will remain in 3rd grade.
  • 4th Grade: Ms. Scott will move back up to 4th grade next year and join Mrs. Edwards and Ms. Shiple. We will not use a departmentalized model for next year's 4th grade so each teacher will teach all subjects. (Mrs. Feeney is retiring.)
  • 5th Grade: Mrs. Clark will be taking a one-year leave of absence so Ms. Hart will return to 5th grade teaching all subjects with one class. Mrs. Sliepka and Mrs. Tucker will continue to share classes in a departmentalized model.

Our spirit countdown begins on Monday! Please check out this list of spirit days for our last two full weeks of school!

Have a great weekend!

Ginny

Greenbriar All-School Virtual Art Show Ends Today *repeat*

The Greenbriar Virtual Art Show closes today. What better way to celebrate all the wonderful creativity and artistry your children have developed in art this year than by clicking on this link and viewing the artwork together!

Unfortunately, due to staffing shortages at the Artomé warehouse, the art show company is unable to provide the in-person art show for our students. In its place it would mean the world to your kids if you viewed the art show together online. There’s no better way of boosting confidence in your child by showing them you love them by supporting their creativity and artistry. Additionally, if you would like to purchase the artwork framed and matted, you may do so directly on the website. Part of the proceeds will go to the Greenbriar PTO and help support all the wonderful programs throughout the school. All artwork originals (whether purchased/framed or not purchased) will be shipped back to Greenbriar prior to the end of the school year to be distributed back to students. Thank you for supporting the fine arts at Greenbriar this year and enjoy the show!!!

All proceeds will benefit the PTO and therefore, our kids! If you have any gently used spirit wear that no longer fits or is needed in your home, please donate it to the office to be included in our sale. Please avoid donating anything with rips or holes or large stains. We appreciate your support!
