Happy New Year! We hope your 2020 is off to a positive start, and that this year will be full of excellent theatre for all of us!
A huge thank you to Festival Chair (and TANYS Administrative Secretary) John Parker, his Festival Committee, and Rome Community Theater for hosting a wonderful 2019 TANYS Festival in Rome, NY. Planning and running Festival is a LOT of hard work - you all did a great job!
We enjoyed ten (10!) productions in our new location, along with fantastic food, fun, hospitality, and the kind of camaraderie that theatre folks do BEST. And the weather even cooperated! Big thanks also to all of our Festival attendees, especially those who donated items for the Silent Auction and membership raffle, and congratulations to all the award winners.
You all proved once again (and continue to prove) that theatre in New York State is a strong, thriving, unifying force. Here's to another 60 years of Festival, and a lifetime of live theatre!

While you're on the TANYS website, check out the
2020 Roving Adjudicator Merit Awards that have been earned to date in the current cycle (November 1, 2019 through October 31, 2020). Congratulations to all the award recipients for your honored work!
*Reminder for contact persons at companies that request TANYS adjudications: be sure to respond quickly when you receive the email notification of your adjudication results, to confirm that names and details are correct for Merit Awards. We want to ensure that we publish accurate info as soon as possible!

From Broadway World: 10 Stars Who Ruled, Plaza Suite revival
Much has changed on Broadway over the past ten years, including the roster of talent that fills Playbill after Playbill. We've mourned the loss of some of the brightest stars, and welcomed new talents who have taken the scene by storm.
BroadwayWorld shines a spotlight on ten stars who had a particularly killer decade. Did your favorite make the list?
Go inside rehearsals for the first-ever New York revival of Neil Simon's classic comedy,
Plaza Suite. Led by real-life married couple Matthew Broderick (two-time Tony Award winner) and Sarah Jessica Parker (two-time Emmy Award winner),
Plaza Suite will have a limited 17-week Broadway run; previews begin March 13 and opening night will be April 13. Prior to Broadway, the production will have a limited 22-performance run at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston, the same theater where
Plaza Suite had its 1968 world premiere.
