Bristol, R.I. – Coggeshall Farm Museum will celebrate Agriculture Weekend on Saturday, September 4 and 5th, 2021 as part of their new series of summer and fall programming events. This event, in its first year since partnering with Old Sturbridge Village, will feature costumed historians from both museums demonstrating how livestock on an 18th-century farm was not only important to historic foodways, but critical to the success of the farm as a whole. Coggeshall Farm’s partner, Gnarly Vines Farm, will be on-site to talk about the difference between historic and modern agriculture practices and they will let guests get up close and personal with some of their animals. In addition, the farm will feature their own heritage breeds.
Agriculture Weekend is the second in a series of new programming at the Farm since partnering with Old Sturbridge Village Museum. Textiles were featured in August and Trades and Crafts Weekend will be September 18-19.
Agriculture Weekend programming is included with Standard Daytime Admission, or membership to Coggeshall Farm or Old Sturbridge Village. Up to three kids age 17 and younger are admitted FREE to the Farm until Labor Day when accompanied by an adult paying full admission.
