Love and Joy Come to You!
|
|
We weren’t able to go caroling this year, but instead, we’ve created a special video of Christmas songs and greetings. Thank you to everyone who contributed! We hope you enjoy it, sing along, and share with your friends and family. Merry Christmas, from Chris and Renae!

From the Council President

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The staff and council of Lord of Love have done tremendous work in support of the life of our congregation throughout 2020. Although our normal activities have been disrupted, they continued to serve and minister to our members and a community in need. All of our staff members and council committees have worked closely to address the pandemic and the ongoing activities necessary for the smooth operation of our congregation. Together we have dealt with a host of situations that required significant research, discussion, decision, and communication. Much of this is carried out behind the scenes, but hopefully you can see the results through our worship and announcements. These faithful women and men have given freely of their time and talents in support of our ministry together.
|
|
On behalf of the church council, I encourage you to send notes of greeting and thanks of any kind (mail, email, text, phone call) during this season of preparation and celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In-Person Worship Cancelled
Our last in-person worship was November 15. We will continue to provide online worship, which is available via livestream and recording on our Worship Video page, Facebook page, and YouTube channel. We do not anticipate returning to in-person worship until early 2021, depending on significant reductions in the virus test positivity rate and number of new COVID cases.

On behalf of my Dad, Ed Guthrie, thank you so much for the gift bag of treats, snacks and cards. My Dad enjoyed opening the cards and will definitely enjoy the treats. The gift bag was very thoughtful and much appreciated. We’re so thankful for our Lord of Love family.

Giving Thanks, By Gary Ramsay
Thank you Laura for your baked goodies, Dave, for Saturday morning Men’s Zoom and Sunday Coffee hour Zoom, Chris and all involved in putting together the church service Zooms, for those who put together and delivered the Christmas bag of goodies along with greetings and well wishes written in your Christmas cards, for the sermons given during the church service Zooms, for the Church Council keeping things normal and everyone informed, for the many at Lord of Love who have supported and participated in providing the music and the readings for the zoom services, and Mary Lou for all that you do.
The list of thank yous could go on and on: Quilters, the Garden, Loads of Love, opening the doors for outside groups to meet; AA and Al Anon, a place to cast a vote etc. Thank you to God’s family at Lord of Love.
A Prayer of Thanks
Good and Gracious God: You have given to Lord of Love a host of giving and caring servants who have helped me and many through this past year. Your Church from within went outside its doors and provided your Spirit to help overcome the loneliness and challenges that the pandemic brought. Time, talent, money and actions by your servants brought comfort and joy to many. The message from your Holy Scripture was proclaimed through thought word and deed. Thanks be to God. AMEN.
