York Catholic Fund
Did you know York Catholic students are attending the skating event at the York Ice Rink this Saturday to cheer on the Special Olympians? Here at York Catholic we know that "Values Matter" more than ever. The values installed through a York Catholic education are timeless as our students learn compassion and service towards others, all while becoming their best selves.  It is our hope that you will continue to support our students in their journey. Through the York Catholic Fund, we welcome unrestricted gifts, which are critically important as they address the financial gap between tuition dollars and the actual cost per student. Additionally, unrestricted gifts provide operating budget support, tuition assistance, and extracurricular support. Every gift, whatever the amount, is greatly valued by York Catholic!

Green & Gold Gala
You are cordially invited to York Catholic's Green & Gold Gala, a festive evening of cocktails, dining, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and fun on Saturday, April 25, from 6-10 PM at the Country Club of York.

Please join us as we celebrate our YC pride and successes throughout the year.  All proceeds will benefit our York Catholic Fund, enabling us to invest in tuition assistance for those in need, a vibrant curriculum, technology upgrades, the arts and athletics, resources for our valued teachers, and the beautification and safety of our school.

Our planning committee is actively seeking donations for our live and silent auctions.  If you can contribute a gift certificate to a local restaurant or business, tickets to a sporting/cultural event, local attraction or getaway, it will truly help our efforts and make a difference in the lives of our students.  All donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes and grateful acknowledgement at the Green & Gold Gala.

Looking for a Tax Break?
York Catholic is excited to share some information with you that is sure to change how you view paying your state and federal taxes each year!

If you pay personal state income taxes, you now have the opportunity (whether filing individually or jointly) to choose how these taxes are spent each year by joining a Special Purpose Entity (SPE). SPEs are based on tax liability, not income, therefore each taxpayer's situation will differ. An individual or couple filing jointly must have a state tax liability of $3,500 or more to participate. To see if you qualify for 2020, you can find your PA tax liability on Form PA-40 Line 12 of your 2019 tax return.

You could receive at least a 10% deduction on your
personal federal taxes each year, so why not have your personal state income taxes serve as tuition assistance funds, allowing more students to thrive at York Catholic High School?

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please follow these steps:
All SPE funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so NOW is the time to submit your Joinder Agreement for the 2020 Tax Year!

For more information about this easy tax donation, please contact Katie Seufert, York Catholic Principal, at [email protected] .
Junior Rings
It is time for juniors to order a York Catholic keepsake, their class ring.  Balfour accepts orders online, and they will be with us to accept orders in person during lunch periods on March 6.  Representatives will be able to assist with sizing, customizing, and orders; they will have full display cases for students to view as they try to select just the right ring.  Questions may be directed to Kathy Hand at [email protected].

Mini-THON
This Saturday, March 7, over 250 York Catholic students (more than half of our senior high enrollment) will once again join the efforts of over 280 high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools to have fun and work to conquer pediatric cancer. Based on Penn State's successful THON, a 46-hour dance marathon, Mini-THON challenges students to stay on their feet while participating in a number of high energy activities including dodgeball, speedball, four square, and Zumba .

All proceeds accumulated through the efforts of Mini-THON are donated directly to The Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital in Hershey, PA.  In 7 years, York Catholic has raised over $120 ,000 to help conquer pediatric cancer. This year our goal is to raise $22,000 and raise awareness "For the Kids."

Donations can be given to Mrs, Wertz in room 204 at YC or paid online using The Four Diamonds Online Social Fundraising Website, DonorDrive at https://fourdiamonds.donordrive.com/event/yorkcatholichsminithon
