COUNTRY CHRISTMAS 2019 A BIG SUCCESS
The Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Liberty, would like to thank everyone who donated their time and talents to this year's Country Christmas event on December 3rd:
Chamber directors and volunteers, the City of Liberty, Liberty Police and Fire departments, Liberty Walmart, Bill Monk and Cliff Richey for the sound and music, Sharon Sullivan, Iva Votaw and Janice Bodenhamer for the face painting, Katherine Moye ("For the Love of Horses") for providing the children's pony rides, and George Moye for providing the mule drawn wagon rides for everyone.
This year's festivities drew a high number of attendees, and some very nice floats in the parade.

NEWS FROM THE CITY OF LIBERTY
|
|
Submitted by: Chris Jarmon, CPM
Assistant City Manager - Economic & Community Development, City of Liberty, TX
On October 8, 2019 the Liberty City Council voted to hire Jeff Blume, a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, to complete a master plan for the Liberty Municipal Golf Course. The master plan will be used to plan and prioritize future renovations and improvements at the golf course with the overall goal of improving the playing experience for all golfers.
As part of the master planning process, Mr. Blume will analyze and evaluate items such as the golf course’s site location, property boundaries, vegetation, topography, soils, drainage, course irrigation and aerial photographs. This analysis will take place on a hole by hole basis to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each hole.
The entire master planning process is expected to take 3-4 months to complete.

A few gift ideas for the holiday season available from our Liberty office:
- Chamber Gift Certificates, redeemable at participating Chamber member merchants. They are like cash, but must be used within participating stores in the Liberty-Dayton area. Member merchants can then redeem them at the Chamber. Five percent of the face value of the certificate is retained by the Chamber for maintaining the program, and the merchant receives the remainder by check.
- Books by local authors from such names as Frank Jordan, Douglas Moore, Linda Street Ely, Chris Contreras, Kitty Shivers Key and others. Stop by and browse our selection.
- We have several bottles of olive oil from local producer Southeast Texas Olive, LLC ( setexasolive.com) in Devers. This is a high quality, 100% organic extra virgin olive oil that sells for $15 per bottle (8.5oz) or $140 per case.
