Partners HealthCare Joins Fund to Invest in Affordable Housing in Chelsea
|
|
Partners Healthcare recently became a new investor in the
Equitable-Transit Oriented Development Accelerator Fund (ETODAF)
which invested in The Neighborhood Developer's (TND) purchase of 181 Chestnut Street in Chelsea. With support from a number of partners, TND acquired the property, preserving 32 units of affordable housing and staving off the displacement of existing residents in the neighborhood.
Partners joins ProMedica, Sentara Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente, Dignity Health, Atrium Health and other health systems around the country working with LISC to co-invest in healthy communities. Partners was particularly excited to support stable, affordable housing in Chelsea where it is deeply invested in the health of the community given that MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center was founded there almost 50 years ago.
