As part of the Route 7 Corridor Improvements Project, construction activities in the
Colvin Run and Difficult Run area and along Carpers Farm Way
will continue through the remainder of 2020. Crews will continue utility work in these areas through the summer and fall months.
Additional work activities will start in July
, including selective tree-cutting in preparation for the temporary relocation of existing Colvin Run and other structural elements.
Starting the week of July 6,
crews will begin temporary road widening, utility relocation, and construction of a new box culvert under Carpers Farm Way.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Carpers Farm Way during the work
, and traffic will be flagged as needed through the work area.
Construction of the permanent Colvin Run relocation will begin in August, with the permanent relocation of Colvin Run scheduled for the fall months. Crews will also start construction of the south half of the pedestrian tunnel under Route 7 at Colvin Run Mill Park in the fall.
Drivers will experience single-lane closures on eastbound and westbound Route 7 while the work is ongoing, and
all residences and public facilities will remain accessible.
