A Note from the Board Chair...
The end of the calendar year brings a chance to reflect and set new goals and challenge our self for the year ahead. Crossroads School is in its 42 nd year. Even though the last 18 months involved great changes, they also reflected a re-dedication to our founding mission and principles.

Our Board of Directors are unwavering in their support and dedication to the school. They have taken steps to ensure that Crossroads will continue for many years into the future. We are proud of our Leadership Team who work every day to create the best educational setting and who support our nurturing teachers to provide both social and academic growth for our students.

Our school continues to grow, (we have welcomed three new students since the beginning of the term) and I am pleased to announce that we will be re-opening a younger Elementary class in January. We often receive inquiries from families with younger students (K-2) and now we can accommodate them.

Our two criteria for accepting a new student are: 1) can we meet the needs of the student and, 2) does that student fit well into the existing Crossroads family. With this expansion, we are confident that our excellent ratio of staff-to-students and the individualized curriculum will now help even younger students to find success in learning.

Please share this information with friends and family. We are happy to answer any questions and provide tours to prospective students.

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful break. I hope it is filled with family and friends and we look forward to the students returning Tuesday, January 7th.

As Seen On Campus - Ugly Sweater Day
As Seen Off Campus - End of Year Field Trip to iT'Z

This past Wednesday our students were able to enjoy some fun and let loose at iT'Z, which is an arcade and activity facility. The students were able to win prizes and enjoy a pizza buffet. It was great seeing the students partner up to play the arcades and work together to win various prizes. There was also a lot of determination from several students to climb up the rock wall. It was certainly a great way to spend a Wednesday before our Winter Break!
Ms. Gemma's After School Cooking Club

No holiday would be complete without creatively decorated holiday cookies. The kids rolled out ready-made, refrigerated, sugar cookie dough (a huge time saver!), stamped out shapes with their favorite cookie cutters – or cut their own shapes with a knife – and baked the cookies in the oven. While the aroma of the warm confections filled the room, the kids prepared the powdered sugar icing, and decided which fun, sweet toppings they’d use to decorate their crunchy creations. On the second day of Cooking Club, we tried out a dessert with much less sugar, but still loaded with flavor – festive fruit & nut yogurt parfaits. Santa would approve!
