Dear St. Chris Family,

Cliff's Notes version: I have tested positive for COVID-19. After discussing the situation with my doctor No One needs to be worried about having contracted the illness from me. Even the folks I was around at St. Chris last weekend have basically a 0% chance of getting sick from me. I will be self quarantining for 14 days.

As some of you may know, last Thursday I began to feel under the weather. I woke up with a small section of my throat feeling scratchy. That feeling remained through Friday. Saturday and Sunday my throat felt fine, but that scratchy feeling moved to the back of my nose. I did not have a fever, sweats, cough, runny nose, congestion, or anything other than the pain in my nose and an overall feeling of being sick and crummy. Monday I started to feel all around better, so I thought I was almost over a head cold.

However, on Tuesday I lost my sense of smell, which led me to think that my illness may not be just a head cold, and so I drove to Premier Health in Troy to get a nasopharyngeal viral test done. It later came back positive.

I wanted to let everyone know what is going on.

God bless you,
Fr. Smith
Please keep Fr. Smith and all who are battling illness of every kind in your prayers.
