Message from Mr. Riley
Dear Junior High Parents,

I wanted to thank those that were able to make it to parent/teacher conferences! It was an honor to be able to speak with you about your student and talk about their progress throughout this year! It is hard to imagine that we are already a week into November!

As a reminder, the High School placement test is tomorrow November 7th and students need to arrive by 8:45 in order to check in.

Also, as we approach Thanksgiving, please be on the lookout for information regarding the Thanksgiving schedule and study table times, as well as additional information, for finals. Below are a few announcements. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The High School Placement Test Tomorrow

The High School Placement Test will be this Saturday November 7th. Students need to arrive by 8:45 in order to check-in before the test.

Annual Leaf Raking

Several Junior High Students came out last Saturday to help during our Annual Leaf Raking. Not only was it a great time and a beautiful day but the kids got a chance to help out those Cardinal Ritter Community. Great job guys!
Backpack Blessings Food Drive Service Opportunity

Junior High Students will be able to collect and donate food items for the Backpack Blessings Food drive in the upcoming weeks! The junior high will be given a particular food item to collect and will compete against the other grade levels in a food drive competition. Please be on the lookout for more information about this service opportunity on the Google Classroom page for 7th and 8th grade.

Cadet Lady Raiders Upcoming Game

Come see the Cadet Lady Raiders Girls Basketball team take on Christ the King this Sunday, 11/8 @ 1p.m. at Cardinal Ritter High School.

Class Breakdown
7th Grade ELA: In 7th grade, we are learning about how not to plagiarize. Students will have a test over this within the next two weeks!

7thGrade Science: Students applied their knowledge of physical properties to conduct a mixture separation lab! Students are reviewing matter and atoms for our test on Monday/Tuesday.

8thGrade Science: Students are wrapping up learning about chemistry and matter. We will have a test on Tuesday November 10th.

7th grade Theology: We are wrapping up talking about Moses and the Israelites, and are about to move into the Prophets that foretold of Christ.

8th grade Theology: This week, we talked about liturgy as the Church's formal, public act of worship. Next, we will talk about the seasons of the liturgical year. 

7th Grade Social Studies: This week we are learning about the next religion in our world religions unit: Buddhism.

8th Grade Social Studies: We are continuing our study on colonization, focusing on Spanish Colonization this week.

Junior High Art: The class made very large Halloween cards for the residents of Avon Health and Rehab. They loved the very artistic cards and my class wrote the nicest messages for the people in the nursing home.

Beginning Band: We are preparing for our Christmas Concert Recording Session! Students just received a second Christmas song and are working really hard during class!
