NY Race Track Chaplaincy
February, 2020
SHARING GOD'S LOVE
The NY Chaplaincy helped to share God's love during the month of February in ways that lifted spirits, and strengthened faith and friendships. Thank you to our supporters for making possible these special moments and blessed occasions.
VALENTINE'S DAY
Valentine's Day was celebrated in style in the Belmont Café when our families, couples, and individuals were treated to a night of music, games, food, and fellowship. Thank you to all of the volunteers as well and NYTHA and NYRA for making this great evening possible. Our raffles featured bicycles donated by our friends at Rainbow's End Racing, thank you!
MONDAY CHAPEL SERVICE
Chapel Service is held every Monday evening at the Belmont Rec Hall and, seasonally, at Saratoga Race Course. A new feature of the service is the use of walkie talkies to enable translation. A home cooked meal is served at the conclusion of the service. Are you interested in contributing a meal? Please drop us a line at info@rtcany.org. Thank you to Christ Church and the Bridge Church en Español for providing fabulous food and leading services this month and to Cathy Carpino and her team for a festive Valentine's Day delicious dinner.
LEAP OF KINDNESS DAY
We are so grateful to the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce for creating "Leap of Kindness Day" which encourages Capital area businesses to extend acts of charity to area non-profits. We extend a huge thank you to T-Shirt Graphics for their generosity and to everyone who chipped in to purchase hooded sweatshirts for the backstretch community of Saratoga Race Course. Those Saratoga evenings are chilly and we are extremely grateful to have received 130 hooded sweatshirts to distribute to the backstretch community!
WE LOVE VISITORS
Thank you to the Munchin777 Empowerment Association for their outreach to the backstretch community. Their food, fellowship, and prayers were very much appreciated.
GIRLS TEEN MENTORING

Our girls teen mentoring program is flourishing and meets twice per month. Are you interested in becoming a mentor? Please contact karen@rtcany.org for details. Pictured below, some of the 25 young ladies who enjoyed an afternoon of painting and lunch during a school holiday this month. Thank you to the NY Women's Foundation and to all of our mentors and volunteers.
THANK YOU to everyone who donated items for our pop-up shop as a part of our upcoming International Women's Day celebration of April 9th. Stay tuned for details of the event!
MEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST
Led by Pastor Durso, the men's prayer group of Christ Tabernacle Church joined us for a very well attended prayer breakfast this month.
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS

Interested in a fun, and very helpful project? As we prepare for our Easter celebration, we are in need of volunteers to donate plastic easter eggs filled with candy. Please contact nick@rtcany.org for details. Thank you!
LADIES DINNER

Approximately 50 women from the backstretch community joined with ladies from the Bridge Church en Español for a very special evening recently at the Plattduetsche Restaurant in Franklin Square. The dinner was delicious, and the entertainment was fabulous, but the highlight of the evening was our communities coming together for a night of new and strengthened friendships as God's love filled the hearts of all present.
Stay Tuned!
We hope to be sharing exciting news very soon regarding the status of construction of the NY Race Track Chaplaincy Center & Chapel. Please visit our website or write to us at info@rtcany.org for information about joining us as a founding member!
