Texas STEM Connections is a web-based tool that makes it easy for STEM professionals to connect with K-20 educators, classrooms, out of school time programs, and other volunteer opportunities. Professionals can share their skills and expertise to bring real-world, authentic learning opportunities to all our students helping to create the next generation of innovators. Through in-person matches and virtual sessions, professionals can help educators and program providers connect their students to the world of STEM. Together we can make a difference.

Join NASA’s High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) as a Counselor for their summer onsite experience that prepares students of the Artemis Generation! Counselors are responsible for guiding a team of 10-12 rising high school senior students through a week-long NASA STEM experience at Johnson Space Center (JSC). We provide training and tools to be successful in conjunction with using the web-based management system - Canvas platform. This is a compensated position and counselors must reside in the same lodging with students during a three-week 2020 summer period.

Learn2Code.Live is holding a mini professional development session on Saturday March 14th from 11am to 1pm Central. ConocoPhillips and the Rice Office of STEM Engagement are offering a unique and innovative year-long professional development opportunity for Greater Houston Area teachers beginning this summer. The ConocoPhillips Applied Mathematics Program (AMP!) is designed to have Science & Mathematics teachers attend as a team representing their school. The program uses inquiry-based teaching strategies. Teachers learn how to integrate their partner's subject area into their own instruction in order to develop an authentic STEM environment on campus. Participants are required to attend the AMP! Kickoff event and the five-day Summer Institute (July 6–10, 2020) as well as 4 all-day Saturday sessions and 4 Wednesday evening classes during the 2020-2021 academic year. We are offering AMP! for 6th Grade Science & Mathematics teachers, 7th Grade Science & Mathematics teachers, 8th Grade Science & Mathematics teachers, and Algebra I & Biology teachers.

As part of a recent endowment to UT Austin's Dept. of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering, the department is funding an annual Petroleum Science & Technology Institute for a week of professional development for high school STEM teachers in Texas. All travel, lodging and meals are covered by the university. Each teacher receives a $500 stipend for participating in the institute, as well as a $400 stipend for providing an abbreviated version of the institute in their own school district during the following school year.
